Some practice doodling.

Short hair looks stylish, but I’m not sure if it beats the elegance of long hair.

Applejack in the Diplomat-verse is the commander of Celestia’s ground troops. She is gruff, to-the-point, has bad table manners and very little patience for sweet-talk. For the most part, she likes to spend time with her troops, but doesn’t mind part-taking in the games at court either. She is very direct about it and doesn’t mind people knowing where her allegiances lie. “Honest Applejack”, as they say. Often it is a matter of the highest bidder for her, but in the end, she doesn’t care too much about what happens. With her family owning the major food farms around Equestria, she doesn’t have to. Regardless of whoever’s in power, people will always need something to eat.

In the Diplomat-verse, Pinkie is the high priestess and head of the Church of the Sun. In essence they believe that Celestia is also a literal personification of the sun, an avatar and direct link to the life-giving star in the sky. Thus it is important to pay your dues to the empress, lest the sky fall dark. Consequently, the church is very rich.
Pinkie herself is a very jovial character, and she always makes sure to have an open ear for everyone. In fact, too open maybe. She makes sure to hold grand galas and parties in celebration of Celestia ever so often, and it transpires that gossip runs wild on these occasions. There’s plenty of food and drink, and if the attendees were a little less polite, they might speak of debauchery. In fact, rumors are constantly circulating that the high priestess herself is prone to more decadent and depraved “parties” in private, and strange nicknames such as “Pinkie Pie” are whispered behind closed doors.
Pinkie doesn’t care. She simply smiles and continues delivering words of praise, ritual sayings and sometimes plain gibberish, while holding most of the state’s secrets in her hands. The church is everyone’s friend - and no one’s.

The Diplomat-verse’s Princess Celestia. Empress. Absolute ruler. Practically revered as a goddess.
But the truth is, Celestia is tired. Tired of the games and schemes, tired of all the big and small cruelties her subjects inflict on each other. She knows most of what’s going on, but her hands are tied. There are too many parties involved. Remove one and it would all break down, devolve into chaos. And so she recedes more and more from her duties, only gets involved when absolutely necessary. Already she feels she is doing nothing more but represent, maintain her image, smile and wave. It is too much. With heavy heart, she locks herself away whenever possible, ignores the terrible realities around her. The sun is hidden behind clouds.

And that concludes our major players for this alternate universe. Not sure what I’m gonna do with them yet, but if I can think of something, I’ll throw in an illustration or two. Short scenarios are always welcome, and of course you’re free to draw or write them yourself too. Hope you enjoy!

Diplomat-verse Luna is Celestia’s personal bodyguard and enforcer. She answers only directly to the empress, has the authority to recruit any non-civilian units to her cause and can override any commands not given by the empress herself. Usually she is just a silent figure in the shadows, watching and listening, but when demanded, she’ll pursue criminals by whatever means necessary and bring them to justice. What many people don’t know is that she’s also Celestia’s sister and could replace her in case of an emergency.
A few years ago she was temporarily banished from the kingdom for allegedly partaking in a plot to murder the princess, but has since been cleared of the charges and returned to her duties.
A sort of religious awe seems to follow her around because of her efficiency and closeness to Celestia. “The moon is always in the shadow of the sun”, people say, and utter a quick prayer that she’ll protect them as she protects the monarch.
